The following talks and programs are open to newcomers and the public throughout the year.
Sunday Public Dharma Talk
10:50am - 12:00noon
A public Dharma talk is held every Sunday* in the main Buddha Hall. Talks are given by the following Sunims:
1st Sunday of the month Musangsa Resident Sunim (English & Korean)
2nd Sunday of the month TBD
3rd Sunday of the month Zen Master Dae Bong (English & Korean)
All programs are free of charge.
• There is no talk on the 4th Sunday of the month, but a 2 hour chanting practice.
• 5th Sunday when there is one - Musangsa Resident Sunim (English & Korean)
Sunday Zen Meditation
1:30pm - 2:50pm (Meditation Instruction for Newcomers 1:00pm) First floor hall of Jeon Boep Kwan building.
Zen meditation sessions for the public takes place each Sunday. For newcomers, please arrive before 1:00pm for orientation. Participants are encouraged to wear long-sleeved clothes and pants that are comfortable for sitting, and socks.
Sunday Zen Cafe with Q & A
3:00pm - 4:00pm at First Floor Hall of Jeon Boep Kwan building.
The Sunday Dharma Teatime talk is an opportunity for anyone to join and listen to the experiences of those who practice meditation, and a chance to ask questions about Zen or Buddhism. Teachers will provide instructions and answer questions.
These programs are free and open to the public. Donations (dana) are most welcome to support the community of international sunims and practitioners and ongoing programs at Musangsa.
Monday Zen Meditation Class - 2019 Spring-Summer Semester
March 4, 2019 - July 29, 2019
Every Monday 1:00pm - 3:30pm (except designated national holidays/ once a month kong-an interview days start at 10am)
A 5-month term Zen meditation class is held on Mondays twice annually, in the spring and fall. Class includes sitting, walking, hiking, kong-an interviews, Dharma talks by guiding teachers and community teatime. In English and Korean. Spring Semester Fee: KRW 200,000/person. For registration, please contact the Musangsa Office before semestere begins.
Staying at Musangsa during Hae Jae (non-retreat period)
Overnight KRW 40,000/per 1 adult
- Must have had prior overnight stay or Templestay experience at Musangsa
- Up to 7-nights stay w/ concession

End of Kyol Che Stay (For Kyol che participants ONLY)
Participants for summer or winter Kyol Che at Musangsa are eligible to stay for an additional up to 3 nights without charge following the Hae Jae ceremony.
