The following public talks and programs talks are open to newcomers and the public throughout the year.
Sunday Public Dharma Talk
10:50am - 12:00noon
A public Dharma talk is held every Sunday* in the main Buddha Hall. Talks are given by the following Sunims:
1st Sunday of the month Musangsa Resident Sunim (English & Korean)
2nd Sunday of the month Hye Tong Sunim JDPS (Korean Only)
3rd Sunday of the month Zen Master Dae Bong (English & Korean)
All programs are free of charge.
• There is no talk on the 4th Sunday of the month, but a 2 hour chanting practice.
Sunday Zen Sitting
1:30pm - 2:40pm (Meditation Instruction for Newcomers 1:00pm)
Sitting meditation practice open for newcomers or experienced. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before sitting time. Please wear comfortable clothes for sitting, socks, long pants and sleeved top. Newcomers’ Meditation Instructions provided in English. Program free of charge. Class takes place in the main hall at the 1st floor of the office building.
Sunday English Dharma Q & A and Tea
3:00pm - 4:00pm
Every Sunday afternoon, we invite you to drink tea and join in a Dharma Q & A with one of our teachers or Sunims. Held in the main hall of the 1st floor of the office building. Open for all visitors. Program free of charge.
Monday Zen Meditation Class - 2017 Spring Semester
1:00pm - 3:30pm
A 16-week semester Zen meditation class is held on Mondays twice annually, in the spring and fall. Class includes sitting, walking, hiking, kong-an interviews and Dharma talks by guiding teachers. In English and Korean. Spring Semester Fee”: 150,000 won/person. For registration, please contact the Musangsa Office.
